Beef Roast with Gravy


Ingredients

The roast meet, whole in one piece
10 garlic cloves (you can add more if you like it more garlicky)
2 tsp meat spices
½ tsp cinnamon
2 tsp black pepper
3 tsp salt
½ tsp nutmeg
2-3 tbsp olive oil
Margarine
Vegetable oil
1 tbsp starch


Directions

Cut all garlic cloves in halves and soak them in the olive oil. Add all spices to the olive oil and garlic and mix well till a tick paste is formed. Bring you meat and with a sharp knife make deep wholes in it. Stuff every whole you make with a piece of garlic and make sure it’s well stuck inside the meat. Take the spice paste and rub it all over the meat till every part is well seasoned.

Now, you need to shock your meat with high heat to make sure that it will retain all its juices and stay moist at the end. Bring a large cooking pan and heat some margarine and oil in it. Once the pan is really hot drop in your meat and let it brown on each side very well. Once it’s well browned add some water and cover the pan letting your meat steam in the water. Keep adding more water until your meat is fully cooked and tender.

Now, to prepare the gravy remove the meat from the pan and immediately cover it well with foil, this will help the meat set and keep moist. Dissolve the starch in litter water and add it to the liquid left in the cooking pan. Once it’s thickened add just a little butter to give it richness and texture and remove from heat.

Slice your meat after it has set, thin slices and serve warm or cold with the gravy you made.
